Pianist

Coronado Community Church
Village Elementary School
600 Sixth St
Coronado, CA 92118

The Coronado Community Church (www.coronadocommunitychurch.org), a small, friendly, non-denominational Christian church, seeks a pianist/accompanist (no organ).  This is a permanent, part-time position and includes vacation/sick days.  Salary dependent on training and experience.  Commitments include:

  • One weekly service and short choir rehearsal, Sundays, 9:15 - 11:05 AM
  • One weekly choir rehearsal, Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
  • Extra Christmas Eve service
  • Special services such as funerals are optional, with additional compensation

Must have excellent keyboard and musicianship skills, and ability to follow the choir director. Having no building to maintain, the congregation is extraordinarily active in providing benefits and support to its members and to the community, both locally and worldwide.  It also provides substantial support for the music program, unique for a small congregation.

The accompanist plays hymns, anthems, offertories, responses, preludes, and postludes, a small percentage of which are chosen by the accompanist. Familiarity with Christian hymns and liturgy are a plus, but not required.

The audition process will include an interview, performance of one piano piece of any nature, one hymn of the candidate's choosing, and sight-reading of the SATB choral parts and the accompaniment of one piece.

If interested in auditioning, please submit a resume/CV and two letters of recommendation to the choir director, Andy Hamilton: musicdirector@coronadocommunitychurch.org , or email Andy if you have any questions.
